inglês "I warn you, madam! I know the Geneva Agreement by heart." - "Bravo! You have to recite it to me one evening. I play the harpsichord." Three great comedians, Peter Sellers, Peter Sellers and Peter Sellers, came together in this film before Doctor Strangelove, and even then they showed how beautifully they work together. The opening joke with the Columbia Pictures logo amused me like few things have lately... And you say that the film has aged and the treatment of some parts of it is rather laughable? I think that makes it all the more magical. ()

inglês Anti-war satire, which ridicules the atmosphere of the Cold War of the 1950s, when international politics was based on nuclear intimidation and there was a pervasive psychosis about the start of World War III. This lesser-known film foreshadows the creation of one of Sellers' most famous films, Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb, in which this world-renowned comedian also played several diverse roles. While Dr. Strangelove was an innovative film, The Mouse That Roared is an old-fashioned, naive-looking film that appears to have been made 20 years earlier. Nevertheless, it is still pleasant entertainment, which is particularly original and genuinely funny in the first half. The smallest country in the world invades a global superpower and, thanks to an incredible series of coincidences, completely conquers it. In the second half, the comedy loses steam and its naivety grows even more, and the point is nowhere near as impactful as in Dr. Strangelove. Overall impression: 70%. ()
