Biografia

Born in South Italy, she got a PhD at La Sorbonne and did postdoctoral researches in Media Archaeology at Paris 4, ENSA Malaquais & Paris 3 (Laboratoire International de Recherches en Arts, Sorbonne Nouvelle). I studied analogue photography in a public school of Rome, editing at Lycée Suger and documentary writing at ENS Louis-Lumière. She has been working as documentary editor at SD cinematográfica and YouDoc. Often exploring different media, she is passionate about urbanism, third landscape, found footage and experimental documentaries. She participated in some Kino movement experiments and open source collective movies, but also in collective fiction (Au secours) and collective documentary (P-Frames) in Puglia and in Paris. Besides that, she did self-produced short documentaries. She realized the video-essay Thirty-seven movies for a home, V chapter of the collective video essay Towards a Counter History of Italian Cinema, which received the Honourable mention by Catherine Grant, Kevin B. Lee and Irina Trocan at the Sight & Sound’s Video Essaying Film History Award (2017). The collective movie was presented at the Locarno Film Festival, 70 Edition (Film Criticism in Motion), the Milano Film Festival, (Eventi Speciali), at Cinema Massimo/Museo Nazionale del Cinema and Genova Film Festival, (Unconventional Cinema). As a short movie, it has been nominated for Best Documentary at the Cinalfama Lisbon International Film Awards), selected at Proxy Act Festival in Berlin and at ULTRACinema mx – cine experimental y de found footage and it has also been shown at NYU-Cinema Studies (Alina Marazzi’s masterclass) and Parma University.
