Sylvain Chomet

Sylvain Chomet (1963) is a French animator, director and comic book artist. He graduated from art school in Angoulême and gained experience at a London animation studio. After shooting commercials he began writing comics and led his own design studio. His successful directorial work in animation includes the short film The Old Lady and the Pigeons (La Vieille dame et les pigeons,1997), his feature comedy debut The Triplets of Belleville (Les Triplettes de Belleville, 2003) and the drama The Illusionist (L'Illusionniste, 2010).
