It was in 1952 that this estate was built at Munich´s northernmost edge. People from many countries moved in: Latvians, Russians, Armenians, Polish, Ukrainians and Sudeten Germans. They were all so-called Displaced Persons«, people without a chance to return to their native countries after the war or to emigrate. Nowadays some 2,000 people live here in a truly multi-cultural society, happy about the tolerance and the familiar neighbourhood. Nevertheless, a part of the Dachau concentration camp used to be here: Living here is a blessing and a curse at the same time. (DOK.fest München)
