Civilisation is coming to an end. While the Father experienced life before the apocalypse, the Son was born into an impoverished world in which the soil is barren, and hatred and savagery reign among those who survived. The death of his only relative gives a feral boy the pretext to journey beyond the confines of his home environment; only by doing this will he be able to decipher his father's journal, the most valuable artefact in his legacy. An adaptation of Gipi’s graphic novel of the same name, The Land of the Sons is a story of dystopia which can be taken both as fiction and as a cautionary vision of our own future. Em termos formais, não há nada de errado com The Land of the Sons e não quero dizer uma palavra contra o filme, mas, em relação ao enredo, na verdade tudo não passa de uma sequência de coisas que já temos visto em muitos outros filmes pós-apocalípticos que são muito mais impressionantes. Por isso, no fim, tem muito pouco de novo para oferecer aos espetadores. Para mim, não foi o suficiente. [KVIFF 2021]
