inglês I am extremely satisfied with my first excursion into the world of CAT III films. I got three films for the price of one: a wacky, abnormally morbid comedy; a tense psychological drama; and a brutal slasher flick. Because the transitions between amusing comedy and thoroughly unfunny drama are drastically sharp, I’m surprised by how cohesive Daughter of Darkness is overall and how powerful a catharsis it provides (followed, of course, by a feeling of unfairly applied justice). The film is impactful not only emotionally, but also visually, when the building of the drama is interspersed with exploitation treats for the eye (sex scenes ending just before crossing the line into hardcore porn). Daughter of Darkness is also brilliantly directed with a feel for original shot composition. Definitely good enough that I want to see and experience more like it. 75% ()
