Dexter Morgan é um perito em salpicos de sangue da Polícia Metropolitana de Miami, complicado, dividido e com o seu próprio sentido perverso de justiça, dado que passa os dias a resolver crimes, e as noites a cometê-los. (HBO Portugal)

Season 4 (2009) (S04)

inglês Of all four seasons, I enjoyed this one the most, mainly because of the character of Arthur Mitchell. John Lithgow could once again show off his talent to play mentally disturbed individuals. But I was also intrigued by Debra's digging into the family past and Dexter's ongoing internal struggle. On the other hand, what annoyed me was all the drama around the workplace relations. Luckily, things were saved by one well-aimed death. What a relief... ()

Vida de sonho (2009) (S04E01)

inglês The beginning of the fourth season was clearly better than in the previous series. A big part of it was thanks to the character of the new serial killer played by John Lithgow, who clearly dominated over the duo of Miguel Prado/G.W. King from the first episode. I was entertained from the beginning to the end of the first episode. ()

Veremos (2009) (S04E02)

inglês Neither the second episode of the fourth series disappointed me. Besides testing Dexter's nerves nicely, the investigation of both main cases started well, and various interpersonal relationships also had enough space. Yeah, yeah, I really enjoyed this series years ago, and so far, nothing has changed. ()

Cego pela luz (2009) (S04E03)

inglês This time, I appreciated mainly the events at the precinct and during the investigation of Trinity's final act. The storyline following Dexter's family and neighborhood was somewhat uninteresting and directly annoying in Rita's case. Luckily, I know what I can look forward to in the next episodes, so I don't lose my good mood. ()

Dexter vai de férias (2009) (S04E04)

inglês The creators made the right decision to remove the disruptive elements from the plot of the fourth episode, and in one case even the annoying ones. Dexter got space to do what he does best, and I was able to enjoy a great atmosphere, plenty of tension and action, and a well-crafted ending. Such a conclusion of the episode literally compels a person to watch the continuation. ()

A fúria da razão (2009) (S04E05)

inglês The story developed in the right way. I was satisfied with the overall atmosphere again, although the tension and action noticeably decreased this time. Annoying Rita was driving me crazy, setting my alarms to red values, and that's exactly why I have to praise the creator for her too, for writing such an annoying character, she deserves praise for that. I'm beginning to understand why Paul resorted to domestic violence. I don't approve, but I understand. ()

Se eu tivesse um martelo (2009) (S04E06)

inglês In the sixth episode, I enjoyed the most Dexter's bonding with Arthur and his family, as well as Deb's inner struggle. However, I wasn't really entertained by watching the development of the relationship between Angel Batista and Maria LaGuerta, it seemed like the creators were just trying to prolong the story. Nevertheless, I didn't have a reason to lower my rating. ()

Águas paradas (2009) (S04E07)

inglês The creators of the series pleased me again with the seventh episode, the authors of the Czech dubbing script entertained me again when they managed to move the Bay of Biscay to the opposite side of the Atlantic without batting an eye. The episode once again had a great atmosphere, there was also action and tension, and John Lithgow played Arthur Mitchell convincingly as always. Those disruptive individuals just come naturally to him. ()

Morte na estrada (2009) (S04E08)

inglês In the comment to the previous episode, I praised John Lithgow for his Arthur Mitchell. This time, he had more space and the overall impression was even better. The idea of a trip to Tampa certainly benefited the story, and I was not bored during the events on the plot. So, giving it five stars was definitely appropriate. ()

Faminto (2009) (S04E09)

inglês The turkeys were particularly well cooked this Thanksgiving, Dexter's revelation of the Mitchell family's secret brought its chilling moments, and even though I can no longer experience the element of surprise because I watched the series years ago, the final line "Hello, dad" still held its power. ()

Os meninos perdidos (2009) (S04E10)

inglês As I have already become accustomed to in episodes of the fourth season, there was no boredom or artificial, substanceless prolonging of the plot this time either. The story had once again a very decent pace and great atmosphere, and even though I hadn't seen the episode for the first time, I enjoyed a decent portion of well-built tension. ()

Olá, Dexter Morgan (2009) (S04E11)

inglês It is interesting to observe how the tension and level of uncertainty rise with each subsequent episode. I don't even have to say that I had a great time watching the official and Dexter's strictly private investigations again. Arthur's search for Kyle Butler strongly reminded me of the movie Terminator. ()

A fuga (2009) (S04E12)

inglês The creators excellently handled the conclusion of the fourth season, what more could I wish for? The official police investigation and Dexter's pursuit intertwined nicely, Dexter's dark past finally came to light, and as a bonus gift, the creators gave me a farewell to the most annoying character of the entire series. ()

Season 5 (2010) (S05)

inglês The opening episode was a disappointment, because it was too melodramatic, which is not what I watch Dexter for. The fifth episode, in turn, brought a lot of unnecessary material and was only there to stretch out the story. But what struck me most was Dexter's occasional emotional outpour, which he wasn’t supposed to have at all. But I had fun for the most part, the story was strong enough and Julia Stiles didn't get on my nerves as much as the (anti)hero’s dead wife. ()

Mea culpa (2010) (S05E01)

inglês I couldn't give more than three stars to the first episode of the fifth season. I am watching a series about a serial killer who, besides occasional outbursts of anger, lacks emotions, and suddenly there's an episode where I feel like I'm Dexter. Everyone is sighing over Rita's cruel fate (including the main anti-hero), while the flashbacks partly bored me and partly annoyed me. The only real positive was the change in the dubbing; if it had come earlier, maybe Rita wouldn't have annoyed me as much. ()

Olá, bandido (2010) (S05E02)

inglês Although Astor was trying her best to replace her mother in my ranking of the most annoying individuals, I was quite satisfied with the episode. The plot came alive again, Dexter finally found some relaxation, and work resumed on the fragment, so I had something to watch. ()

Quase perfeito (2010) (S05E03)

inglês No, I had a choice. I could have lowered the rating of the first episode and given four stars to the third, or I could have kept three pieces for the first part and rated this one with five. I decided on the second option because I had a great time and the ending was very successful. ()

A bela e o monstro (2010) (S05E04)

inglês After a weak start, the fifth season is heading in the right direction. Dexter's life is even more hectic than ever before, I enjoyed watching his dance between work, his son, and his hobby, but there was no boredom even in the homicide department, so I didn't have to hesitate about the final grade. ()

A fúria do herói (2010) (S05E05)

inglês The fifth episode was not as convincing as the previous two parts, the constant bickering in the relationship between Angel Batista and Maria LaGuerta really does not entertain me, and Dexter's actions were mainly limited to repetitive conversations with Lumen, so I actually had nothing to enjoy and the result reflects that. ()

Tudo é luminoso (2010) (S05E06)

inglês One wouldn't have guessed how many humorous moments await him in a rather brutal double murder. The previous episode was quite underwhelming, but I had a great time with the sixth episode, it had a quality atmosphere, a solid dose of suspense and humor, and a very good pace. ()
