Mangue Negro

In several moments of the second half this exotic horror film manages to reach the above-par level (the atmosphere reminded me of Fulci’s Island of the Living Dead), but as a whole I must rate it as slightly below-par – it’s too amateurish for my taste. Thumbs up for the mangrove setting and the look of some of the zombies, thumbs down for everything else. (20/07/2010)
