I really liked the series, so I gave the completely unnecessary episode only two stars. I thought Elam Ferguson's story was already concluded, so I was unpleasantly surprised when I saw his return to life and forty-two minutes of excessive dialogue in a language far beyond my abilities. This was an overly obvious stretching of the plot. (01/12/2018)

The seventh episode confirmed my belief in the correctness of my opinion about the previous episode. It was just cotton wool despite all the positives, which also went beyond here. I really hoped that the creators would manage to avoid such approaches. It was lucky that Durant got more space this time, his storyline drove the episode. (02/12/2018)

I was pleased to find out that the creators have ditched the resurrection of fallen heroes and returned to what they do best, which is a proper story. I didn't mind at all that it wasn't an action-packed episode because all those intrigues, manipulations, and conversations more than made up for it. (02/12/2018)

Unlike the previous episode, this time it was mainly about action, where all the intrigues and manipulations from the eighth episode culminated, and in my opinion, the creators succeeded. The Wild West would be quite settled without wild shootouts, and if one of the participants is already a trained engineer, he should operate the Gatling. (02/12/2018)

After the previous wild action, I was expecting the plot to calm down, but I was hoping for a new wave of intrigue and cunningness, although it didn't really happen. The episode wasn't bad at all, but I already know that the creators are capable of much better results, so they can blame themselves for the lowered rating. They shouldn't have spoiled me! The strongest moment of the eleventh episode was the necessity to save the treacherous murderer, so that an otherwise innocent person, who is a contribution to the whole community, would not be condemned for his death. That was a moral dilemma par excellence. It is an ugly thought to have to save an individual whom one would rather roll over with a stiletto and toss away like a toothpick. (02/12/2018)

When I consider that the story mostly focused on conversations between Cullen and Ruth the night before an unlucky morning, I would expect the level of repulsive pathos to dangerously rise. However, during the episode, I realized that there was no such threat because it's not an American series. A very well-handled matter. (02/12/2018)

The thirteenth episode wasn't bad, but the season finale definitely deserved something extra. The revival, however, brought a somewhat non-traditional mud-wrestling match, but the pace of the story was noticeably weaker. Similar to the third series, the creators skipped a big finale and peacefully headed towards the next season. (03/12/2018)

The season was of a high quality as usual. The creators put a lot of effort into creating a great atmosphere. I only think the season could do with a greater dose of action and suspense. I was also expecting a much more epic finale - I was a bit disappointed by how it was handled. (06/12/2018)

The first episode was mainly a calm start to the fifth season, introducing me to a large number of new characters and a somewhat different environment at Central Pacific. Plains replaced mountains, and Chinese people replaced black people, but the atmosphere and interesting plot remained, it just needs a little spice. (03/12/2018)

I really enjoyed the second episode, the visuals were luxurious and everything was going well, but then it seems that the screenwriter took a bigger gulp of something than he should have and wrote a scene with a nonsensical survival of a long fall. If they hadn't shown me how deep it was, I could have just waved it off, but it was over the top, it was supposed to be a full score originally. (03/12/2018)

When it comes to a series about building a railroad, I have to say that I had the feeling that the plot took a detour this time. I'm not saying it wasn't interesting, it's just that the whole story didn't move forward too much. Despite constant reminders, the fact remains that I still enjoy the series and after it finishes for the day, I don't want to leave it at all. (03/12/2018)

I will repeat myself again, but I think the fifth season is not bad at all, it's just that each episode lacks that "something" for which I could add a fifth star. Even this time, I couldn't give it a top rating, and I didn't even consider the creators' anal alpinism, who added Mary Field to the story, a character so indebted to quotas that it makes one sick. If this strong woman, who is surely only black by pure coincidence, demonstrated in a real saloon what she showed in this episode, her smile would disappear before she could even say, "What? I wasn't bored even in the fifth episode, but the problem with the missing ingredient still persists, which would finally make me give five stars. This time, I'm sure that I was mainly missing action, but even the intrigues and manipulations weren't running at full speed. However, Durant was an honorable exception; his conversation with Maggie was perfect. (04/12/2018)

The episodes of the fifth season seem to be perfectly balanced to me so far. The creators have not yet managed to impress me with anything, on the other hand, I admit without hesitation that I am having a great time with them. I am starting to feel that the fifth star is due to the divided attention between two railway companies. (04/12/2018)

And again the same song, from the summit meeting in Salt Lake City I expected much more than I actually got. Not that the gentlemen didn't try, but I'm already used to much better performances from the creators of the series. Nevertheless, I was pleased when Eva started setting boundaries. (04/12/2018)

Already, I thought I would have a five-star experience for the first time this season. The beginning was excellent, with high-quality action on the farm and an occasionally chilling atmosphere. However, then came the turning point. The whole subsequent journey dragged on quite a bit, Cullen's decisions lacked even basic logic, and it completely ruined my impression of the entire episode. 4* (04/12/2018)

I am still waiting for the full-fledged episode, but even the ninth one was not that, as it did not deviate from the previous standard of the fifth season. This time it was rather a family episode, which was nicely complemented by the storyline of Thomas Durant with all his tricks and clever plans. (04/12/2018)

As I got used to in the fifth season, there was no bonus that would enable me to claim the fifth star. However, it was once again a successful episode that didn't bore or disappoint me in any way. Living in a different time, I think Dr. Mjr. Bendix would probably get along with some progressive doctors, including Josef Mengele, for example. (05/12/2018)

The eleventh episode was unexpectedly one-sidedly focused on the events around Union Pacific, and even though I traditionally had a good time with Durant, I didn't find a reason this time to increase the rating to full fire. It's high quality, entertaining, but that "missing piece" is still missing. (05/12/2018)
