Operação Outono é um thriller político sobre a operação que levou ao assassinato de Humberto Delgado pela PIDE em Fevereiro de 1965, em Villanueva del Fresno. O filme inspira-se em factos verídicos, alguns dos quais foram recentemente descobertos por Frederico Delgado Rosa, biógrafo e neto do General Humberto Delgado, e no seu livro Humberto Delgado, biografia do general sem Medo. A acção decore entre Portugal, Espanha, Algéria, Marrocos, França e Itália, no período entre 1964 e 1981, desde a preparação da operação levada a cabo pela PIDE, e que tinham por nome de código: Operação Outono, até ao caso do Tribunal, já depois do 25 de Abril. The first thing I remember about this movie is the moment of surprise, when during the story about political machinations I began to find out what really happened in Portugal in the past. Naturally I had no idea, so it really surprised me. For a political thriller portraying that period it is not badly filmed at all. However, it’s a shame it is really a pure political thriller, so there is a wide range of moments where you feel like taking a nap. Watching the whole film is worth it, however.
