Alain Delon, num dos melhores desempenhos da sua carreira, o de um professor substituto, apaixonado pela arte e pela literatura, que chega a Rimini, na costa adriática, em pleno Inverno. E é nesta estação balnear deserta e fantasmática, brumosa e lamacenta, filmada soberbamente pela câmara de Dario di Palma, por onde vemos deambular Delon/Daniele Domicini, com um frio e pungente magnetismo e uma tal intensidade que nos corta a respiração, que o professor se apaixona por uma aluna frágil e sedutora, com um nome de ressonâncias stendhalianas. I must admit that it took some time to get used to Alain Delon speaking Italian. I either see him dubbed Czech or speaking French, which feels a bit more natural (French simply because that’s his native language and Czech because the good old French movies voice acting was often better than the original). The story of the movie didn’t come up with anything innovative. I was actually quite bored for quite some time. For example, when I watched how romantic Alain is. However, the classically French ending will make me think about this movie for a long time.
