"The Return of Jafar" picks up where "Aladdin" ended, with the evil sorcerer Jafar trapped inside a magic lamp. But when a clumsy thief releases Jafar from the lamp, Jafar plots his revenge against Aladdin. Now it's up to Aladdin and his friends to foil Jafar once and for all and save the sultan's kingdom. As is customary with Disney sequels, the new film does not come close to the original. In direct comparison to the first installment, Aladdin: The Return of Jafar has no hope but to receive a far worse rating; fortunately, the Genie's one-man-show saves everything completely. Still, this does not change the fact that the central plotline of "you never told me about the parrot, so I'm going off to sulk in my chamber" is such a stretch that it ends up being nearly impossible to swallow.
