O Mal-Humorado é sobre um velho homem rabugento, cuja teimosia de “velha guarda” é posta à prova quando é forçado, devido a uma grave queda, a ir para a cidade com sua filha, uma aguerrida advogada empresarial. Os dois entram imediatamente em conflito, com consequências hilariantes, e a filha quer que ele se vá logo embora. Mas há algo mais no velho homem do que ela pensava inicialmente. E, da mesma forma, ele tem uma ou duas coisas a aprender com esta mulher moderna. Então, o que começa como um desastre tragicómico acaba por ser uma história comovente sobre novas descobertas, tolerância e aproximação entre gerações. (Filmin)

The Finnish have a gift among their Scandinavian brothers. To write uncompromising, cynic comedies that contain absolutely brilliant humor, and on top of that, a bit of truth. The Grump is one of those and I have to say that the music of Hilmar Örn Hilmarsson only added to its uniqueness and thus created a really great movie, from which I would maybe cut a few scenes so that it wouldn’t be so long. But otherwise it‘s a great movie.

A deeply human story about a man who refuses to accept that the world works differently than it did when he was young. The film is full of slightly humorous situations that made me laugh out loud, yet I wouldn't consider it a comedy at all. It's a kind of Nordic caress of the soul, underlined by truly beautiful music, although the old man was sometimes frustrating in the way he could drive everyone around him crazy.
