Як ми стали добровольцями

The triumph on the Maidan unfortunately was not the last chapter in Ukraine's story. Then came the annexation of Crimea and the prolonged and bloody conflict in the east. Ukrainians know that they must continue fighting for freedom and independence. The film presents a mosaic of portraits of ordinary men and women who voluntarily joined the Ukrainian army. They train to participate in the defence of the motherland. They are aware of the risks that they take, and not everyone returns home. This view of the war through the eyes of Ukrainian patriots shows that the volunteers' commitment to fight is fuelled not only by fierce conviction, but by support from certain people. (One World)
