inglês I’ve watched all the three movies based on the books and I was thinking it could go something like this… I liked the books, but I wasn’t smitten or anything, and it was the same with the miniseries. It has its good moments, but also bad ones. Luckily, the staples of a good crime movie such as partnership, some good noir elements and original, inventive cases were predominant. It’s a shame that Robin’s and Cormoran’s relationship was much richer in the books, but that would probably be wanting a little too much from this show. ()

inglês As a detective film, none of the two cases so far works, nor motivation, culprits and evidence that Stiker uses to prove them guilty can be more obvious, even if they had been highlighted from the very beginning by a flashing pin gloriole. I haven´t read the books, so I have no idea what went wrong, if it´s a flaw of Ms. Rowling or the screenwriters of the series, who did not handle transcription of the genre story lines well. On the contrary, what is purely "Rowling-style" are the characters (for example, the main one is basically rewritten Lupin). And the authors of the adaptation are well aware of this, so they don't rely so much on the cases themselves, which rather play the role intended to “keep the central couple busy", but mainly on the "Potter-Granger" dynamics of the Cormoran/Robin duo. In this personal line, it works much better thanks to the characters and the cast, in particular, Burke clearly extremely enjoys the grumbling limping bear beset by demons who has his heart in the right place. He enjoys it that much that it would have been a pleasure to watch it even if the detective line had been worse than it already is. ()
