inglês In my opinion it is quite a nice surprise. Toni Collette enjoys the role of an arrogant bitch, Harvey Keitel is properly chivalrous and Rossy de Palma? She is the one who owns the movie. From the moment she gets to the scene she is the one who provides the entertainment. And because the movie has its beauty in the really graceful Joséphine de La Baume I gladly add a star and rate it with solid four stars. ()

inglês A nice story, with a touch of France. The opening half hour is one of the best, with a maid tasked with pretending to be a classy Spanish noble lady during a dinner, but after a few glasses of wine things start to unravel and it turns out differently than the smug lady of the house (Toni Collette) would have wanted. It's a shame the whole film didn't stick around for one dinner, the Italians have proved it works with Perfect Strangers, but the story shifts its focus elsewhere and that wasn't as appealing to me. Still, a fine fine with the lovely Rossy de Palma.65% ()

inglês I will have to be careful when it comes to Amanda Sthers in the future. To have such a cast at hand, to work with such subject matter, and to produce something so banal, one must truly be talented. Amanda was convinced she was shooting a comedy, but the film lacks well-written dialogues and funny situations. The comedy became a cheap morality tale that targets the world of superficial snobbish rich people. I have never seen Toni Collette in such a one-dimensional role. Madame is a forgettable film that deserves to be aired on TV outside of prime time. Overall impression: 40%. ()

inglês I enjoyed the first and quite decent part of the film which ended with the banquet. However, the rest was a disappointment. The story suddenly lost momentum, the creators didn't bother to follow through with anything, various themes were opened up only to be forgotten after a while, and what started as a comedy poking fun at snobbish behavior ended up as a weird drama that offered almost no explanation to the viewer. What a shame. ()

inglês Madame is basically a rather sad film, outwardly appearing to be a comedy, but it is very good to watch. Much of the credit for this goes to Rossy de Palma, who played the title role with admirable grace and refinement. Even though Toni Collette and Harvey Keitel were both great in their dysfunctional partnership, it was Rossy de Palma who outshined them perfectly with her performance. Thanks to an excellent cast, fine music, and a believable story, I spent quite a relaxing evening with the alluring whiff of Paris. (70%) ()
