The attractive theme is conveyed in the form of a slowly narrated and strongly old-fashioned film, which in many respects is not bad, but overall, at times I had trouble to keep watching this till the end. There is nothing to complain about actor-wise. On the contrary, I must pay tribute to Robert Redford and Sissy Spacek for delivering superb acting performances. But each of the characters is in a way very peculiar. I don’t know if it’s because that the older we are, the more eccentric we become, but surprisingly the strangest was not Robert’s character (although it’s actually about him), but that portrayed by Casey Affleck, who plays a brutally apathetic investigator who doesn’t give a damn about much of anything. And yes, in these days there’s this trend to cast acting legends in important dramas with quality storytelling, but this is unfortunately not the case. ()

inglês A nice farewell to Robert Redford's career about an admirable criminal who broke out of prison countless times and robbed over a hundred banks. The heists are fun and Redford as the smiling gentleman is great. Casey Affleck as the cop trying to catch him is also entertaining. Too bad the jailbreaks were summed up in only five minutes and the comedy is pretty underused. Still, a decent retro film that has charm and heart. I have it between 3 and 4 stars, but given that this is Redford's last notch I'll round it up. 70%. ()

inglês A big wave of nostalgia and the best possible farewell for Redford (without Newman). Lowery’s direction is likeable this time, it sells the vital energy and attitude of the leading character, whose endless rebellion is imprinted in the concept of a narrative that defies the expectations and deals in its own way with the developed motifs – and mostly very entertainingly and smoothly. inglês All things considered, the screenplay is nothing special, but the acting performances of Robert Redford and Sissy Spacek gave it the right energy. It wasn’t the kind of film to keep you on the edge of your seat, the pace was rather lazy, yet I wasn't bored and had quite a good time. ()

inglês I'm fascinated by the incredible career of Forrest Tucker, a gentleman among bank robbers, which the filmmakers were loosely inspired by. For quite a while, I was leaning towards giving it three stars, but for the charming retro atmosphere of the film and the amazing trio of actors led by Robert Redford, superbly supported by Sissy Spacek and Casey Affleck, I have to add one more star.
