Luckless Ping has no idea what lies waiting around the corner when he accepts a checkout job at a 24-hour shop. Greeted by an annoying boss and his nice co-worker Marbel, with whom he conducts all kinds of mischief, his misfortune begins with the first customer – a police officer with digestive problems who is in a rush to get to the loo. What comes next is a hot cheerleader, a grandfather looking for a sandwich and a pair of scissors, and a suicide bomber who just wants to blow everything to smithereens… Absurd, loopy, exceedingly brutal, hilarious and visually stimulating – everything we love about Hong Kong cinema. Robbery is a manic head-wrecker and a completely incidental scathing commentary on the state of a city. (Zurich Film Festival)

inglês Well, that was a mess!! A film teetering between a Boo! and a five-star rating. It has a premise that I generally like a lot: a group of random people come together in one place that will be fatal for them, and the characters here are so insane it boggled my mind. We have an outcast salesman who plays the whole movie with scissors stuck in his throat, the Mob Boss of the town, a sexy cheerleader, a cop, a salesman from a competitor, and two store employees. Robbery has a pretty good pace and manages to surprise with interesting twists and turns during the plot, even the humor works here though very naive, I laughed out loud at times and surprisingly there is a lot of blood, though visibly digital, some scenes were worth it. An interesting piece of work. 65% ()
