Tā Moko - Behind The Tattooed Face

Maori face tattoo, or tā moko, is a tradition that was nearly lost through colonisation. Bernard and Sapphire are passionate about seeing Maori communities heal, unite and look to a positive future in Aotearoa/New Zealand. Captured over one weekend on their home marae, this film tells their stories of pain and hope as they demonstrate this passion by receiving moko of their own. (Hawaii International Film Festival)
