Gregor Samsa is a keen travelling salesman, who takes pride in his work. He is constantly on the move and tries to convince his superior of the quality of his services. One morning, however, he can’t get out of bed, nor is he able to leave his room, even when his boss tries to intervene. Samsa also finds he is unable to walk. While guests are milling around in the apartment, Gregor manages to crawl out of his room, although he can’t escape his father’s stern gaze. This unconventional debut, filmed in London by multifaceted artist Lorenza Mazzetti and based on Kafka’s "Metamorphosis", is regarded as one of the forerunners of the British Free Cinema movement.
