Perhaps the weirdest “adaptation” of the classic story of the vampire Count who lives high up in the mountains (regardless if he’s called Dracula or Nosferatu). The movie takes place in the present (i.e. the 1970s) and it’s a sharp critique of capitalism and the consumerist lifestyle. Considering its time and country of origin, it’s almost unexpectedly ambitious and doesn’t have many naive and silly details. A unique, atmospheric rarity. ()
