A Entrevista (2014)

inglês Very good, any intelligent person can tell that this is just a joke. Seth Rogen and James Franco are a perfect duo and here they prove it again. Great humour, a decent idea, great pace and especially the action and gory ending were very nice. The scene with the tiger was magical for me. This Is The End was crazier, but I had a great time here too. A solid 80%. One of the most controversial films ever.

Bienvenue chez les Ch'tis (2008)

inglês A French romp with the best idea ever in the comedy genre!! A very fresh, intelligent and offbeat humour and even in a different language than we are used to. The actors are decent, the plot is more than effective, the pace is nice, the film will increase your vocabulary, you will cry, well, this film can't leave anyone cold. I recommend it for fans of French humour. 80%.

Myeongryang, huiori bada (2014)

inglês The last Korean blockbuster and the winner of this year's box office in Korea is over. The R-rated treatment is definitely a big plus, it gives the film some juice during the action scenes. The cast is also very decent, pitting the two acting stars Min-sik Choi and Seung-ryong Ryoo against each other, couldn't have been better. The emotions work as well and the visuals are definitely a high standard, though the recent The Pirates looked better me. It's also interesting that the film is divided into two halves, the first, more "boring" one, which deals only with strategy and tactics, and the second, more "action-packed" one, where the fighting is at sea. I'm not a fan of warships, so the action didn't bring me to my knees, I prefer swords and arrows in historical films, but luckily this film was a nice change for me and I certainly wasn't bored. 75%

Exodus: Deuses e Reis (2014)

inglês Definitely better than Darren Aronofsky's Noah, but still, Ridley Scott could have gotten more out of it. Exodus is an epic and visually arresting sensation that is rather empty, cold, emotionless and with an excessive running time, that's what slightly hindered my full experience here. For an hour and a half nothing interesting actually happens apart from Moses' wanderings around the world, this could definitely have been cut down and instead more time spent on the Egyptian plagues, which are over rather quickly, but there can be no fault with them they are perfectly shot, gripping and breathtaking. The final tsunami will literally make your mouth drop, I've never seen anything better. It's amazing how technology is moving forward, it's a pity the pace didn't get more of a push on the throttle, it might have made me melt. Must see on big screen!!! 75%

O Que Fazemos nas Sombras (2014)

inglês This is what happens when I watch an arthouse, festival, cheaply made and uninteresting bore for intellectuals after a perfect comedy. What We Do in Shadows may have an interesting idea, looking at vampires from a different point of view is good, but I didn’t find the film entertaining or even funny at all. As soon as I don't laugh even once during a comedy that has a clear 82%, something is wrong. 3* very reluctantly for those four slit throats.

Doidos à Solta, de Novo (2014)

inglês I thought no comedy was going to surprise me this year after 22 Jump Street and Suck Me Shakespeer, and wham Jim Carrey returns after 20 years and made mincemeat out of me again. An incredibly slick, cheeky, funny and catchy comedy, this type of humour suits me. Carrey's quips never get old, he's such a great comedian. The great thing is that the jokes don't let up and from start to finish these two jerks are on a treadmill making up everything they can and I was rolling on the floor laughing. Some interesting twists and turns and Rob Riggly's disguise is unforgettable. 80%

Table No.21 (2013)

inglês A decent thriller focusing more on psychology and intelligent dialogue than violence and gore, but I didn't mind it at all here. The Indian island setting is a very attractive destination, Tina Desai is perhaps the most beautiful woman on the planet, and overall the challenges and questions make sense and are always intriguing, occasionally shocking. The ending delivers a beautiful moral lesson, so for me I'm definitely satisfied and I recommend it to fans of similar films (Truth or Dare, Would you Rather). 75%.

L.A. Confidencial (1997)

inglês Well, I don't know, this is exactly the kind of over-hyped movie I don't see anything special in. The actors are probably the only thing I can praise the most, the cast is really very decent, but what else? For such a film I expected at least intelligent or funny dialogues, cool twists or some memorable scene, but unfortunately nothing came. For me, an average and slower crime drama with a good cast, but nothing special. Like hundreds of others. Too bad.

Shi cheng (2014)

inglês The low budget of the year!!! This movie is an incredible ride for little money!! From the 5 minute mark, the film takes off at a brisk pace and continues to an interesting climax. Who says Czech girls are the prettiest in the world, check out the Zombie Fight Club!! It features a range of beautiful half-naked girls who aren't afraid to show a little more and during a very intense fuck, many of you will get turned on. The gore is also to be commended, although mostly digital splatter, thankfully the blood is well coloured so it looks effective not like the Adam Chaplin shit and the like. Some scenes are truly over the top and the main character is a likable guy, he doesn't mess with the zombies, none of them stand a chance against him, he rips their jaws off with his hand without any problems and smashes more than one of their faces into the wall. Already at the 40th minute they are all soaked in blood, there is not a single creature in the film without a splash of blood, which is a plus, because this is proper carnage, which is only slightly shabby looking, but it can be survived. Just for fans of gore, Asia and video game. Had the film had a higher budget, Asia would have screwed up my year-end charts decently, but still a fine 70%.

Ruptura (2007)

inglês Amazing courtroom thriller. The central duo of Anthony Hopkins and Ryan Gosling is absolutely spectacular and each of their encounters has a dark and disturbing edge, complemented by intelligent dialogue. Hopkins' planning will take your breath away. For me, I'm very satisfied, I love these films. 80%.
