Beata Parkanová

Screenwriter, director and author was growing up in Velké Meziříčí and Jihlava. She studied at the Josef Škvorecký High School and FAMU – department of screenwriting and dramaturgy. She began her cinematic work with medium length documentary and live action films, as well as serving as assistant director for Milostné písně (Love Songs, directed by Bohdan Karásek, Czech Film section at the Karlovy Vary Festival 2014). She also worked as screenwriter for Andílek na nervy (Victoria Angel, dir. Juraj Šajmovič, 2015) or the TV docusoap Kdo neskáče není Čech (Jump If You’re Czech, dir. Juraj Šajmovič, 2014). The feature length Moments, for which Parkanová wrote the screenplay, is her directing debut, produced by Viktor Tauš.
