Mckayla Twiggs

Twiggs was born on September 28, 2004 in New York City.  She has a younger sister, Lyla.  Her father, Matthew, is a photographer and her mother, Tanya, a former commercial actress and model. Mckayla Twiggs began singing at age two and acting at five.  At six-and-one-half, she was scouted by a talent manager onstage at a local theatre group.

She made her Broadway debut at just seven, when she landed the role of Ivanka in the original production of "Once," the Tony Award-winning musical.  She got her big break in film just a few months later when she was cast as Little Willa in Akiva Goldsman's "Winter's Tale."  She appeared in  the hit television series "Orange is the New Black," and has also performed in several commercials and voiceovers.  Her love of singing and performing on stage has brought her back to Broadway, where she played Little Cosette in the acclaimed  production of "Les Misérables" in March 2014.
