Biografia
Audrey Tautou was born in 1976 in Beaumont, Auvergne, France. She made her acting debut at age 18 on TV, and received critical acclaim and won the César Award (Most Promising Actress) for her role as a young beautician in Venus Beauty Institute (1999). Her international breakthrough came in 2001 with the signature role of Amélie, in the cult film by Jean-Pierre Jeunet.
She has since appeared in a range of genres, from international thrillers such as Dirty Pretty Things (2002) or The Da Vinci Code (2006), to romantic comedies like Priceless (2006), Delicacy (2011) and Mood Indigo (2013), and historical pieces such as A Very Long Engagement (2004), Coco Before Chanel (2009) and Thérèse Desqueyroux (2011). She has been nominated three times for the César Award, and twice for the BAFTA for Best Actress in a leading role. She is one of the very few French actors in history to be invited to join the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) in 2004.
