Emma Findlen LeBlanc

Biografia

Emma Findlen LeBlanc is a writer, photographer, and anthropologist. Currently a Rhodes Scholar at the University of Oxford, she is conducting her doctoral fieldwork with marginalized forest workers in rural Canada. She lived in Syria from 2007 through 2012, including the first 18 months of the revolution, where she studied Arabic, recorded oral histories at a public insane asylum, and worked as a journalist throughout the region. Her work from Syria and Iraq has been published in GQ, Slate, Le Monde, the New York Times Globalization and Human Rights blog, JO, and The National, and she has exhibited her photographs in the US, the UK, and the Middle East.
