Director and scriptwriter, Sophie Tavert made her first film Apparences as part of her baccalaureat studies. During her time studying film production at university, she made eight films in 16 mm and DV, all self-produced and highly experimental. In 2009 she wrote and directed Un amour (Takami Productions), which was selected for the festivals in Clermont-Ferrand and Uppsala, followed by Mad (Films Grand Huit) in 2016, which won the grand prix at the Kinoma festival, the special jury prize at the Alès Itinérances festival, and the young audiences prize at Cinemed, Villeurbanne. She co-directed Traces (2019) with Hugo Frassetto, using animated paintings and sand, wrote her first full length film and is working in parallel on various products, including animation and photography, TV specials, feature films, series, etc.
