Marek Dvořák

Marek Dvořák was born in Prague in 1988. Since his childhood, Dvořák has been interested in photography and his brother Michal "Romeo" Dvořák, graphic artist and director of music videos, introduced cinematography to him. After graduating from a grammar school, Dvořák enrolled at the Film and TV School of the Academy of Performing Arts Prague in 2007. At the Ostrava Kamera Oko Festival 2014 he was awarded a Special Mention for the cinematography of the film Retriever by Tomáš Klein and Tomáš Merta which was the Czech Republic's only representative in the Official Selection at the Cannes Film Festival. This fall, Czech cinemas will premiere David, his DoP debut. At the moment, he is working on his second feature film ("Scum" / "Špína", dir. Tereza Nvotová). His second collaboration with the duo Tomáš Klein and Tomáš Merta – "Obsession" – is also to become a feature film.
