Matriarch

Ben Steiner está drogado e tem uma ideia distorcida do que o espetador quer. Que todos os personagens (exceto o papel insignificante da amante loira) são pouco simpáticos e ilegíveis, não importaria tanto, eles encaixam-se no conceito de enredo. Mas todo o desvendar gradual do mistério que envolve a mãe e a secreção negra é puramente bizarro e estranho, e não assustador ou chocante. Uma treta total. (13/11/2022)

A decent addition to the family of folk and body horror, which especially in the final act brings some succulent and juicy moments and scenes. However, it should have held onto the mythology a little tighter and more could have been extracted from the mother-daughter relationship. And no one would mind if the main character was at least a little bit likeable. Acceptable as a debut, anyway, and if Ben Steiner makes something else, I'll be happy to be there. (21/10/2022)
