When Manual (Thornton) is released from prison after 22 years, he seeks redemption by befriending Adele (Hunter), the sister of the 16-year-old boy he killed. But things get complicated when Manual can`t bring himself to tell Adele his true identity. The film marks the directorial debut of Ed Solomon, the screenwriter responsible for such films as Men in Black and the two Ted and Bill films. Estes dramas americanos inteligentes começam a aborrecer-me. Se não são sentimentais (Sonhos Desfeitos), são aborrecidos (este caso) e, mesmo que se interesse por alguma coisa no início, ao fim após algumas horas a boa impressão desvanece-se. A premissa básica é bem tratada, mas o objetivo do personagem de Morgan Freeman não percebo totalmente. E amanhã, provavelmente, não perceberei o objetivo de todo o filme.
