inglês Had this film not been so dumb, it might have been watchable. It wasn’t filmed in a bad manner. But it’s dragged down by the convoluted plot twists, where we’ll see Denzel raiding a hospital after the first half hour of the film, because he is desperate, waving a gun in his hand like some wannabe boss. inglês John Q. is a simple, formulaic Hollywood flick about a father who is willing to do whatever it takes to get his son on the list of organ-donation recipients. It’s an overwrought sentimental fable that tries to move you with an ocean of moralistic, good-hearted ideas and fails miserably when it comes to intellect. And I won’t even comment on its disgusting rip-off of Gavras’s Mad City. ()

inglês Denzel in a perfect role as a father who will do anything for his son... I believed him every second so it really grabbed me by the heart. Sufficiently dramatic, emotional, sentimental... excellent. ()

inglês A rip-off of Mad City and a film without a proper idea to innovate its predictability in any way. That said, the performances are decent. In other words, average. Denzel is no match for the above mentioned Travolta and Hoffman. ()
