O aspeto televisivo degrada o argumento original e notável. Justamente quando o filme começa a tornar-se absurdo ao ponto de ser involuntariamente ridículo, um ponto de partida fixe, digno de reflexão e discussão, salva-o de cair na mediocridade. Nas mãos de Cronenberg dos anos 80, teria sido um caso diferente!
