Avery Taggert (longtime Tarantino stuntwoman/actor Zoë Bell) is a photojournalist who has come to Colombia to document the daily life of a religious community whose purpose and agenda are unclear. It's the 1980s: the Medellín cartel has a stranglehold on the countryside, and the CIA isn't any less dangerous, so she hires a guide to get her where she needs to go. Guillermo (Nacho Vigalondo) takes on the task, but Avery inadvertently catches him in the middle of a slaughter, and a treacherous chase begins. Guillermo and his goons do everything in their powers to wipe her out, while Avery digs deep to find ways to elude them and escape from what has become very hostile territory. Reminiscent of Narcos and Sicario, the film dwells on a woman who has traveled far to put her dark past behind her - only to find something even worse. (Denver International Film Festival)

inglês Zoë Bell is great, and I'm glad she truly transitioned into a regular actress rather than just a stuntwoman, but this film isn't as good as one would hope. The story is incredibly empty and tries to hide behind a specific filming style, essentially in the tradition of modern slow-burn gritty dramas. Unfortunately, the result is a bit boring. But it does deserve an average rating. ()
