Tom Newman can't join his family on their first African Adventure vacation due to urgent business obligations, but hopes the trip will provide a chance for his son and daughter to bond with his new young wife, Amy. Their ranger, Brian, decides to add some extra thrills and adventure to their trip and takes them "off roading." All is well until Amy and the 2 kids become lost in a labyrinthine game reserve and begin to be stalked by savage lions who won't quit until they have dinner. (The Weinstein Company)

Um filme de B de DVD barato dos Weinsteins. O tipo de filme que se enterra já com a terrível música dos créditos de abertura ao estilo de um jogo de PC dos anos 90, e confirma a sua barateza com um ridículo efeito de câmara «do ponto de vista do leão». Surpreendentemente, no entanto, há por vezes algum momento de susto a funcionar, e duas cenas parecem mesmo como se alguém as tivesse dirigido. Maz o que faz aqui Bridget Moynahan?

It’s not a bad film, but I’d hesitate to call it horror. Rather, it is a standard and very predictable thriller with beautiful animals in the main roles. If Prey had at least one idea and avoided that crazy happy-ending, it could aspire to a rating higher than standard.
