In the wake of the 2005 terrorist bombings, Elisabeth (two-time Academy Award®-nominee Brenda Blethyn), a widow from a small farming community, travels to London in search of her missing daughter. As she cautiously navigates a world unlike her own, she repeatedly crosses paths with Ousmane (Silver Berlin Bear-winner Sotigui Kouyaté), a Muslim man attempting to locate his missing son. Before long, Elisabeth and Ousmane come to the shocking realization that their children share a connection, and if they have any hope of finding answers, they must put aside their cultural differences and work together. Um filme sensível e espiritualmente maduro, que não critica ninguém (terroristas) nem nada (política), e somente simpatiza sinceramente com as pessoas comuns, com a sua dor causada pela perda sem sentido dos seus entes queridos. Brenda Blethyn não precisa de comentários, a interpretação individualista de Kouyaté é hipnotizante, e juntos este duo não compatível cria um choque inesquecível de emoções, atitudes e compreensão mútua. Um pequeno filme forte.
