O ladrão de cestas de piquenique mais amado do planeta chega ao grande ecrã com Zé Comeia, uma aventura que combina criaturas de animação com atores de carne e osso. Zé Colmeia sempre se guiou pela sua capacidade de raciocino rápida e pé ligeiro para se manter um passo á frente dos furiosos campistas e escapar do seu arqui-inimigo, o guarda-florestal Smith. Contudo, ele e Catatau estão prestes a enfrentar uma situação pior do que qualquer uma das que Zé Colmeia já provocara… O Parque de Jellystone vai ser vendido! Para compensar a má gerência do orçamento da cidade e atrair mais eleitores, o Mayor Brown planeia vender o parque a lenhadores. Famílias já não poderão desfrutar da beleza das paisagens do Parque de Jellystone e, pior ainda, Zé Colmeia, Catatau e todos os seus amigos serão expulsos do único lar que conhecem. Perante o seu maior desafio até à data, Zé Colmeia tem de provar que é mais esperto do que o urso comum e ele e Catatau aliam forças ao guarda-florestal Smith para descobrirem uma forma de impedir que o parque feche portas para sempre. I unexpectedly liked Yogi Bear and his little friend Bubu. The biggest problem, of course, is the script, which we've seen at least ten times before. I was also disappointed with Anna Faris, who I didn't even recognize at first. I agree that Tom Cavanagh wasn't great either. On the other hand, Justin Timberlake rocked! Pleasantly short, colorful, and quite funny. I see this as an average film on all fronts.

Cartoons in the Hanna-Barbera tradition had their charms, but this one works a little differently. I dread to see what other old cartoons will fall victim to the contemporary fashion of live-action remakes. Pixie and Dixie? Huckleberry Hound? The Raccoons? Care Bears? At any rate, the current youth is very happy and the gags make one forget even such silliness as pronouncing Jellystone Park as something that should be made of jelly.

Yogi Bear is another in a series of films that, along with Scooby-doo and The Smurfs (which I thankfully haven't seen), tried to break out of the purely animated version and into a more live-action one. The result is a sub-par and wannabe funny family film that relies on awkward scenes and silly acting performances, leaving you with the feeling that your IQ is slowly dropping to room temperature while watching it. The only thing that might be worth a positive mention is the nice setting and the decently done Yogi and Bubu.
