Quite rare to find in the region, this docu-drama brings a detailed review of a tragical incident: Slovak Lubomir Harman slaughtered his neighbors in the Devinska Nova Ves housing neighborhood. The movie, based on the real event, shows a brutal mass murder that shook the entire Slovak and Czech society last summer and became the most hyped issue in years, raising a question or two even today. The movie presents key moments as an acted reconstruction from the point of view of both the killer and the victims; it also features authentic shots or real allegations of witnesses, accomplices and mourners. One of the topics is what preceded the tragedy. “What makes an elite shooter do such a thing? Were there racial implications involved? What made a decent and quiet person decide to solve some kind of a problem this way?” - these are the questions that seek answers during this movie which caused some passionate reactions and discussions after its premiere this February. inglês I'd be quite curious to know whether the information presented here serves the purpose of conveying half-truths and ambiguities. It's not so much about the racial subtext for me, but rather whether the creators simply didn't try to create something that gives a clear answer, but doesn't provide a real insight into the problem. It's like nobody really knows what happened, but a film is made about it to make it seem like something is known. ()
