When their shuttle bus crashes in the Sierra Mountains, two brothers along with four strangers find themselves marooned in the midst of a thunderstorm with sudden death staring them in the face. Before long, they are rescued by a mysterious man who invites everyone to take shelter at his log house nestled in the barren woods. Here they will stay until the storm subsides, but the house has its own plan for its new guests...the vengeful spirits inside want bloodshed. Um filme B que recicla filmes de terror de casas assombradas e os princípios fantasmagóricos de The Grudge - A Maldição. A atmosfera, conseguida através de visuais decentes, nos locais funciona até mesmo os clichés óbvios quererem ser perdoados. Mas não procure o medo ou o suspense aqui. Os atores são credíveis e bonitos, com exceção de Val Kilmer, que é (ironicamente) o pior elemento do filme (e ator). Ving Rhames é inicialmente muito bom como o misterioso dono da casa, mas mais tarde é risível como um substituto do ícone de horror Tony Todd. O filme é enterrado pelo seu final embaraçoso, que quer chocar, surpreender e espantar, mas tem o efeito oposto.
