O argumentista tem uma imaginação vívida e coloca temas de horror e ficção científica aos acontecimentos reais misteriosos, ainda não explicados, como se fossem de um filme de terror B que não tem nada para ver nas salas de cinema. O conceito de real-footage encontrado é repetidamente contrariado pela lógica do filme, e nenhum dos personagens do grupo americano de aventureiros lhe interessará de forma alguma, e as atuações dos russos locais são ridículas (avó interrogada, a ler subtilmente o texto, sem comentários). Não falta suspense de horror no final, mas geralmente é uma treta terrível.

From at least the moment those zombies that look like out of an underfunded video game from the late 90s show up, even the most optimistic can no longer take this movie seriously. The script presents a lot of funny questions (Why did the last three surviving protagonists hid in a bunker that is opened and closed from the outside? How did they figure out how the machine in said bunker worked? Are the creators really serious? etc.). This year, for found footage horror, my bets are on The Conspiracy. The Dyatlov Pass Incident can be easily ignored.
