Unique images of Prague during elections to the first senate of the Czechoslovak Republic on 25 May 1920. The beginning of modern Czech statehood as presented through important voters: arriving at the polling station are Prime Minister Vlastimil Tusar, President Masaryk and his wife Charlotte, Karel Kramář, archbishop František Kordač and several veiled nuns.
The Degl brothers here display all their journalistic alacrity – in the intertitles, they comment on the difficulty in filming the nuns, who didn't want to be filmed – "however, the operator's presence of mind did not let itself be confused". (Ji.hlava International Documentary Film Festival)
