The controversial Japanese director Nagisa Oshima sends a huge wink to his audience with this outrageous comedy about a wife (Charlotte Rampling) who has a most unusual lover...a chimpanzee. When the dignified British diplomat, Peter Jones (Anthony Higgins) discovers his wife's rather odd object of infidelity, he diplomatically suggests that Max, the chimp, move in and be the family pet. But it is not long before Peter finds his disbelief turns into intense jealousy and an obsession to find out if the two are actually having sex. Part hilarious and part surreal, this comedy of perverse manners is Oshima's way of making a statement about bourgeois morality. (texto oficial do distribuidor)
