As much as I hate to, I have to give a nod to the disgruntled part of the audience. Tulip Fever really could have been another story in the style of Girl with a Pearl Earring. However, the non-existent interplay between Vikander and Waltz makes the whole experience rather unbelievable to the point of being unbearable. Or was it just a small mistake and Alicia will overcome this misstep and live up to the hopes placed in her over the last five years as the new ideal costume drama actress? We'll see. ()

inglês A nearly two-hour camera feast on Alicia Vikander, which at times fetishistically captures her figure in millimeter-by-millimeter detail, and that's the only truly "intense" thing this would-be sparkly, piping hot romance has to offer. Anyone expecting a juicy emotional melodrama will be disappointed. Apart from the decent performance of the female lead, there is nothing to make a fan of the genre, and dense Victorian stories, happy. It's all told in one single exterior location of a darkened, dirty harbour and three or four rooms. That is, a movie for a few bucks where I guess they were betting on a gripping plot around the main trio, which is, except for a few moments, dull and about nothing. In addition, DeHaan's casting is way off. It seems that no other major celebrity wanted to be in this project, and after watching it, it’s no wonder. Fiasco. ()

inglês This is a romantic movie during which I thought that it didn't really matter if it was about tulips or not, because anything else would have worked just fine. The story of the lovers isn't bad, it doesn't have a bad development, but the unnecessary promotion of humor didn't sit well with me. In the end it's also strangely positive, which I didn't expect. ()
