I’ve seen artistic handling of many things, but I don’t think I’ve seen a sandstorm in Australia handled in this manner. Strangerland is pushing really hard even though it’s actually a classical drama in which two kids get lost from their family. But the movie turns that into a crazy story and it lures you down the path to certain ideas. But the worst thing about it all is that in this movie you won’t even believe a sex scene involving Nicole Kidman. So, the only thing that’s left is to enjoy the beautiful camerawork. Who would have thought it would be the best part of an otherwise bad movie?
