Ao Sabor das Ondas

O fim de Ao Sabor das Ondas teria sido forte se tudo antes tivesse funcionado pelo menos na medida habitual dos filmes de relações românticas. O aspeto maluco da comédia grega/italiana é refrescante, mas os personagens e o seu comportamento... e as suas representações por atores (e não atriz) são um castigo. Ritchie dirige de forma tão descontraída e descuidada ou incompetente em relação ao género (pode escolher, só saberíamos a verdade se ele tentasse outro filme romântico, o que esperamos que não aconteça) que é impossível ligar-se às personagens, acreditar nelas, sentir algo por elas, ou pelo menos não entendê-las como palhaços irritantes. Ligar a bela peça orquestral «Spiegel am Spiegel» especialmente no final acima mencionado é uma tentativa inútil de dar ao filme uma alma romântica. (29/07/2020)

I had no idea that Guy Ritchie ever shot such idiocy. Madonna portrays a solid bitch here, who could not even flush a shat-on toilet by herself. On top of that, she is cast away at a desolate island in the middle of Greece, which is bad in and of itself, and she ends up there with a creep who wants her, but at the same time doesn’t want to rape her. For some time it looks disgusting and then it transforms into love. The movie was as bad as a rubber anchor. (17/05/2016)

After watching at least five unscheduled reruns, I still didn't get tired of Swept Away. The story of the money-spoiled Madonna, aka Amber, through the lens of her then-husband Guy Ritchie, is now also another closed chapter in the endless series about the life of the controversial icon. So what's next? A new marriage and another movie that will be hated on principle alone? Hopefully, Madonna will continue to have the energy to make more feature films, although such programmatic nonsensical hate would annoy anyone. (08/02/2009)
