Sharknado 4: The 4th Awakens

Depois dos primeiros dois episódios (ainda levados relativamente a sério) desta saga surpreendente popular de qualidade C, os criadores decidiram finalmente seguir o caminho da estupidez absurdamente insana que já não se leva a sério nem um pouco, o que compreensivelmente faz muito bem à série. Os tubarões no espaço do terceiro filme foram ultrapassados, e chegam lavonados, vacasnados, petroleonados, fogonados e relampagonados radioativos, que compreensivelmente precisam de ser forçados atravessar as Cataratas do Niágara para lavar a radioatividade. A lógica é nula, mas pelo menos ainda há algo a acontecer, e já é tão idiota que se torna bastante divertido de ver. Ou seja, se conseguir aceitar o tratamento geralmente amador e incapaz, desde a direção, ao o nível de efeitos até às (não)atuações. (13/11/2016)

In the fourth installment, CGI reached its peak in the scene where a shark was eliminated on the bench. I replayed the scene three times before I believed what I was seeing, or rather what I wasn’t. Then I spent ten minutes trying to survive a fit of laughter the likes of which I hadn't experienced in quite a while. The makers of this travesty seemed to have reacted to audience feedback and tried to pretend that the comedy was intentional, hence the references to The Wizard of Oz, Terminator, Iron Man and Baywatch, but the fact remains that once again, the most hilarious scenes were those that hadn’t been intended for laughs. I couldn't figure out if they were really serious about: sharknado, sandnado, rocknado, oilnado, firenado, lavanado, cownado and nukeado. My suspicion is that they were dead serious, and here goes one star for the unintentional humor. (24/01/2018)

Ian Ziering is simply great in his role, and I can't wait to see what he'll have to face again and again, or how he'll be saved. Here, the finale is truly brilliant madness. But it also stands on other actors who are superb in their B-movie roles. Tara Reid is fully associated with this series now, but now David Hasselhoff also belongs here. And since we're on the topic of Baywatch, the film also features Gena Lee Nolin and Alexandra Paul, whom you'll know well from this 1990s series. For a fan of B-movie crap, this is still beautiful.
