The Day to Choose

A lawyer and his wife are both abolitionists of the capital punishment. One day, two strange men visit the lawyer's house and torture the lawyer's wife to death, whilst offering him three choices: shooting them to death by the gun in front of him, telling the police to catch them, while they would definitely be sentenced to death, or releasing them and pretending nothing happened and moving on with his life.
