Adapted from a Dario Fo play, Johan Padan a la descoverta de le Americhe charts the adventures of Johan, a lively and curious young boy, living between Venice and Seville. When a gypsy, with whom he has fallen in love, is accused of witchcraft, he leaves for the Americas, where he meets Indians. Having understood the importance of their beliefs, he teaches them how to defend themselves against the conquistadors. (Locarno Festival)
