The architecture of the Portuguese architect Manuel Aires Mateus is layered, complex and intriguing. His minimalist buildings might give an almost austere sculptural impression, in combination with the interior design and the surrounding landscape, however, it speaks a language of harmony. The architect tells about his fascinations and what he considers to be the core principles of architecture.
