"Miracles From Heaven" is based on the incredible true story of the Beam family. When Christy (Jennifer Garner) discovers her 10-year-old daughter Anna (Kylie Rogers) has a rare, incurable disease, she becomes a ferocious advocate for her daughter's healing as she searches for a solution. After Anna has a freak accident and falls three stories, a miracle unfolds in the wake of her dramatic rescue that leaves medical specialists mystified, her family restored and their community inspired. You can sit through anything, but I sure did not expect a movie this pushy. It could have been a nice family drama with a happy ending in the style of then Hallmark TV. Actually, there is a huge spoiler in the title. Nevertheless, I held my own through the entire film. For instance, everybody should like wacky Queen Latifah in this one. But the encounter with God at the end of the movie got me to my knees so hard that I could no longer follow what’s happening in the film.

I simply don't enjoy similar nonsense. Sure, something strange might have happened that we can't explain because we don't have the capacity and knowledge to do so yet, but to immediately invoke God is just posturing. Plus, the characters are incredibly boring and predictable, as if every American family is caring, beautiful, and loving. Kitsch, and religious gibberish at that.
