In Hella Joof’s debut film (where Lisa Nilsson performs the title song), Jacob (Mads Mikkelsen) proposes to Jörgen (Troels Lyby) on his birthday, after many years together. But already during the same evening he sees Jörgen’s wasted sister-in-law Caroline over the toilet seat with a glass of red wine, and the encounter awakens odd feelings in Jacob. Suddenly life is turned upside down, and Jacob does not know what to do with all these feelings. Two years after his breakthrough in Bleeder, Mads Mikkelsen shows he is ready to present a charming portrayal of the confused man in love at the heart of this entertaining triangle drama. Situações dramáticas de relacionamento, apresentadas com humor, honestidade e leveza admirável, envoltas numa liberalidade sexual surpreendentemente não chata e não forçada. Outro daqueles filmes nórdicos demasiado fixes que me faz pensar o quanto fogo e sentimento os «nórdicos frios» escondem em si. E Mads Mikkelsen é um ator realmente grande em absolutamente todas as posições emocionais.
